Frequently Asked Questions
The only way to pocket money on a TDY is from per-diem. Hopefully by staying at an Aviator Crashpad with a fully stocked kitchen you’ll be able to save some by cooking on your own. We do not do any sort of kickbacks to you (cash, gift cards, alcohol) these are illegal, so be careful with some other military crash pads that are out there! Avoiding kickbacks of any sort keeps you and I both out of trouble, and us in business.
Absolutely not. It is explicitly stated in the Joint Travel Regulation that the traveler gets to choose where to stay even when there is lodging available on base. If you decide to book a room with us, the Red River Inn appreciates if you cancel your reservation early (preferably two weeks prior to your class start date). So why live on base when you could live in a luxurious Aviator Crashpad for the same price!!!
You pay nothing out of pocket. Aviator Crashpad charges military members the same rate the Non-A letter approves or the On Base Lodging Rate which we explain further on our Aviator Crashpad Payments page. The money given to you for lodging is use or lose, so even if you stay somewhere that costs less you can’t pocket the difference.
Simple… Comfort and convenience. I enjoy staying at a hotel, but after about a week it gets old and I start to miss the comforts of home. At Aviator Crashpad we want to be your home away from home, so we provide you with the best of both worlds. Like a hotel you receive a secure place to stay with a HDTV, queen sized bed, cipher door lock, DirecTV, linens, towels and housecleaning. But like a house you get a 60″ TV in the living and an outdoor living area with gas grill and patio furniture. At Aviator Crashpad you can have it all… privacy and somewhere nice to hang out!!!
We will send you an electronic bill at the end of each month. You simply pay with a credit card (GTC is accepted) and your invoice is automatically sent to you. You can then print out/email yourself your daily itemized receipt to file with your travel voucher.
